Under the Baobab Tree

An essay film that departs from a family story to get lost in a reality that cannot be colonised. It starts in Olinda in the 80s, passing through Mozambique in 1975, to land in the dystopia of today’s world, revealing a complex web of neo-post-colonial relations between the two former colonies. Finally, a ritual of undoing something – the I – so that others – people and worlds and point of views – can emerge as protagonists of the story.
