In Canudos, a village in northern Bahia, the “sertanejos” led by the prophet Antônio Conselheiro are surrounded by the army of the young Brazilian republic, in a war that has lasted several months. Upon the arrival of reinforcements, the time has come for the final strike on the rebels.
